Calgary - Volunteer Capital of Canada!
While the title of “Volunteer Capital of Canada” may not be an official designation, Calgary’s strong volunteer culture, extensive community engagement, and the significant impact of its volunteers have earned this reputation.
In 2015, I was working for the Calgary Public Library marketing team and I had the privilege to create this video story by collecting testimonials of key people who benefited from Doug’s acts of love.
The story of Douglas is a reflection of the collective efforts of Calgarians who continue to make a positive difference and inspire others to embrace the spirit of volunteerism.
This story exemplifies the fact that I am always grateful for what my job takes me.

Ive watched this video several times and see something new each time.
I especially like the opening and closing scene of the water drop witting the pond, and then all of the ripples because that is how volunteering works……..the ripple effect.
